Diana Krall

This Canadian born jazz sensation has released 10 albums since she burst onto the music scene in 1993. She has received two Grammy Awards, a Juno and an honorary PhD in fine arts from the University of Victoria. Yeah, you could say she's made it.
Diana Krall began playing piano at the age of four and by 15 was playing regularly at local restaurants in her hometown of Nanaimo. At 17, she received a scholarship from the Vancouver International Jazz Festival to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she completed three terms. After Ella Fitzgerald's ex-husband, Ray Brown heard Krall play, he persuaded her to move to Los Angeles and study with pianist Jimmy Rowles, where she first began to sing.
By 1990 she relocated to New York and in 1993 released her first album "Stepping Out." She has come a long way since the release of this album, with several personal and professional accomplishments including her marriage to Elvis Costello in 2003 and the birth of her twin boys in 2006. Her latest album clearly reflects Krall's contentment with her life.
Krall continues to build strength in her music with each new release, and this star continues to shine bright.
